The Coloplast Assura 2-piece appliance system is a revolutionary mechanical coupling device that ensures extra reassurance for the wearer. Its pouch is securely attached to the barrier by a mechanical coupling system that provides an audible ‘click’ to indicate that the pouch is safely locked into position. Additionally, the pouch can be rotated into the desired position - whether standing, lying down, or while emptying - without having to be removed from the barrier, allowing it to be adjusted according to the user's preferences, including left or right-handedness. The pouch is also designed to be detached separately from the spiral adhesive barrier, enabling the pouch to be changed more frequently without having to replace the adhesive barrier itself.
The Assura system is available with both standard and extended wear adhesive barriers, as well as flat, convex light, and convex varieties. The barrier itself can be purchased either pre-cut or ‘cut-to-fit’, and when combined with drainable, closed, or urostomy pouches, a wide range of solutions become available, including night drainage bags, minicaps, and much more. Furthermore, a color-coded coupling system helps ensure that the barrier with the "red" coupling size must be matched with a "red" pouch.
The Assura spiral adhesive provides secure adherence to the skin and absorbs moisture, thereby providing skin-friendliness and protection from irritation. Furthermore, the extended wear adhesive offers extra protection against aggressive output, particularly useful for urostomy wearers.
