These barriers come pre-cut or "cut-to-fit" to fit the user's needs, with the added bonus of a permanently attached adhesive barrier. Furthermore, the efficient three-layer filter ensures odor neutralization and eliminates the risk of pouch "ballooning" and uncomfortable bulges. Lastly, the soft, water-repellent backing fabric makes for easy drying after a shower or swim.
Assura 1-piece drainable offers two levels of convexity to assist with difficult stoma management, like stomas that are flat, pulled in, or nestled in a fold of skin. This convexity supplies pressure to the area surrounding the stoma to lessen the chance of leakage by allowing it to bulge outward. Convex light is designed for those with flat or slightly receded stomas, delivering gentle, light pressure to the abdomen for added security. Whereas Convex provides more robust protection to retracted stomas or those embedded in deep skin creases or scars by placing moderate to high pressure on the abdominal area.
