Synthetic material allows the New Image Flat Flextend to withstand regular exposure to bodily fluids, preventing disintegration and making it ideal for patients with a urostomy or ileostomy or who perspire more than the average amount.
To do this:
• Non-eroding material swells once exposed to stoma discharge.
• An integrated floating flange allows for gentler application.
• Cut-to-fit design lets you to customize the barrier to your stoma size.
Can be used with New Image two-piece drainage, closed or urostomy pouches with the same flange size.
How To Use New Image Skin Barrier:
1. Make sure skin is thoroughly cleansed and dried; soap must be rinsed off completely, with no remaining residue. Avoid using lotions and skin sealants.
2. Apply a barrier powder if the peristomal skin shows signs of erosion.
3. Add a rolled piece of gauze over the stoma to absorb output during application.
4. To add the barrier, first remove the backing paper. For greater flexibility, hold the barrier in between your hands before removing the paper.
5. After applying the barrier, hold it in place with your finger or hands for 30 to 60 seconds to improve adhesion against the skin.
