Corpak Suprasorb A Calcium Alginate 2x2 Dressing is a highly absorbent wound dressing perfect for heavily exuding, superficial, or deep wounds. Made of calcium alginate from natural brown seaweed, it contours easily to any wound base and is even capable of filling deep wounds. Suprasorb A absorbs considerable amounts of exudate via gel formation, thus preserving a moist wound environment. This is made possible by the exchange of calcium ions in the dressing with sodium ions in the wound's exudate. The dressing can be replaced easily, as it takes exudate away along with the alginate fibers.
Suprasorb A is available as a flat sheet or rope dressing and can be used in the treatment of heavily exuding, superficial or deep wounds like pressure ulcers, arterial ulcers, venous ulcers, skin donor sites, and post-operative wounds.
